This series of drawings and sketches resulted from an extended period of stay in the Burren which lies along the west coast of Ireland.  Taken from the Irish word bhoireann, meaning a stony place, it is an area that while looks both bleak and desolate, is rich with ecological and biological wonders.  For those who look past its exterior, they discover a land whose stark beauty lies in its resilience to time and the elements.  My admiration for this area became an integral part of my work.
